Lovre Kalinic is a Croatian professional football player who plays a goalkeeper for Croatia national team and Belgian Jupiler Professional League club, KAA Gent. Besides playing for KAA Gent, he has also played for Croatian football clubs such as Hajduk Split, Junak Sinj, Novalja, and Karlovac.

He has represented Croatia in their youth teams and made his international debut for Croatia in 2014 and has played at the UEFA Euro 2016 for Croatia. He is also in the 23-man Croatian squad for the 2018 World Cup.

Lovre Kalinic’s  Career

After playing for the junior team of Hajduk Split, he made his senior debut with the club against NK Slaven Belupo on 23 April 2011.

He was later transferred to Croatian football clubs such as Junak  Sinj, Novalja and Karlovac as the part of the loan deal from  Hajduk Split.

Lovre went on to make a record of most successive minutes without conceding a goal in the Croatian top football league, Hrvatski Telekom Prva Liga

He later went to sign a new five-year contract with the Split and after playing for several seasons with the club, he left the team in 2017.

The Croatian goalkeeper later moved to Belgium and signed with the Belgian first division football club, KAAA Gent in 2017 for a record transfer fee of €3. 1 million making him the expensive transfer fee for a  goalkeeper in the Prva HNL.

He won the Belgian League goalkeeper of the year 2017 in February 2018.

Lovre Kalinic’s International Career

After playing 20 matches for Croatian youth teams, he made his full international debut for Croatia in 2014 and was the part of the Croatian squad that played at the UEFA Euro 2016 in France.

As of 2018, he has made ten appearances for Croatia and is in the preliminary Croation team led by Luka Modric that includes the likes of  Ivan Strinic and Dejan Lovren.
